Electronic Notarizations - Pioneering the Future

eNotary or eNotarization has been a buzzword floating around for the past few years. As with any innovative new idea, such as the automobile, the television, compact discs, DVDs, it takes some time for these new systems to be implemented. eNotarization creates many more problems in an attempt to solve other problems. Several states have adopted eNotary laws such as North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Florida and California. Kansas is working on a pilot program to have current notaries have input into the process, so if you are a Kansas notary and you want to participate in the shaping of your future as a notary, why not contact the state?  http://www.kssos.org/business/notary_public/e-notary.html

The Pennsylvania Department of State has taken new steps to make eNotarization more accessible to Pennsylvania’s approximately 80,000 notaries public:

    1. The Department will begin the transition to a multi-vendor system, to increase the opportunities and choices for Pennsylvania notaries to electronically notarize electronic documents.
    2. The Department will eliminate the $40.00 fee for electronic notarization applications.
    3. It is hoped that the notaries will now see that some of the barriers have been lifted that have prevented notaries from taking the step into the future.

    Trivia Question

When a notary acts as an electronic notary some things will change and some will not.  Which of the following is true about the procedure for the eNotary?

    a.
    b.
    c.
    d.
    e.
